About North Yorkshire

North Yorkshire is the largest County in England and as such it offers a diverse range of teaching opportunities due to the variety of demographics across the County. This presents the chance to develop and expand your teaching experience to suit the stage of your career journey.

Our young people have ambitions for the future.  We have ensured that their views have been heard and have directly included them into the Local Authorities Children, Young People and Families Plan 2014 - 17; Young and Yorkshire The Plan sets out priorities for 2014-17 including;

"Ensuring that Education is our greatest liberator, with a greater proportion of pupils attending a good or outstanding school or setting" Young and Yorkshire Plan.

We are currently on our way to achieving this as 92% of children going to a good or outstanding primary school and 87% of children going to a good or outstanding secondary school.We want to realise this ambition and we need good teachers to help us to achieve this.

The towns in the County each have unique societies shaped by the type of industry and employment sectors influencing educational approaches in each area. As such we require teachers who can offer different skills and specialities to support us to acheive the ambition for every school to be good or outstanding.

Whatever your teaching aspirations, North Yorkshire has opportunities for all.
